Admissions

Welcome to the Admissions at St Augustine’s Priory.  We are an all-through school and our admissions process starts with Nursery entry all the way through to Sixth Form.

Our main entry points are Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 12.  The process and key dates for each of these entry points is outlined in the admissions section along with the process for occasional places in other year groups.  If you would like a tour of the school you can do so via our book a visit form.

Please note that we only have a few spaces in the Nursery for the 2023-2024 academic year, if you are interested in registering please complete our online form.

Our pupils move seamlessly through the school from Nursery or Reception and our Year 6 pupils are not required to sit the 11+ assessments in order to progress to the Senior School for Year 7.  Entry into the Sixth Form is dependent on grade requirements for chosen subjects along with other criteria.

We offer scholarships at 11+ and 16+, when pupils are in Years 6 and 11 respectively.  More details about the types of scholarships candidates may apply for can be found on the scholarships page.

We invite you to visit our school either for an Open Morning or a small group tour.  Please complete our online booking form to reserve your place at an open event or a small group tour.

Open Days 2024

  • Saturday 27th April 2024  (Year 7 and above entry)
  • Thursday 30th April 2024 (Reception up to and including Year 6 entry)

BOOK A VISIT

Registration

We encourage parents to register their child as early as possible and details of timings and assessments for the next academic year can be found on the individual entry point pages.  The registation fee is £125 for each candidate.

APPLY HERE

Once a completed Registration Form is received your child’s name will be placed on the Applications Register appropriate for her age. All applicants and their parents from Nursery upwards meet with the Headteacher as part of our selection process.

Selection

St Augustine’s Priory operates a selective entry procedure. Selection is based upon academic merit and potential, which is assessed through an entry examination or classroom assessment, an interview at the school and references from the candidate’s previous school or educational setting.  Our selection process is designed to identify pupils who are able to benefit from our balanced and well-rounded education and to make a positive contribution towards the life of the school.

Sibling Policy

St Augustine’s Priory gives siblings priority at assessment. However, admission is not automatic and there may be occasions where the school judges that a sibling is likely to thrive better in a different academic environment.

“Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of St Augustine’s yesterday.  I know that the girls really enjoyed the tour and I agree with the GSG’s assessment of “quietly brilliant”.  We would be delighted to register our daughter as an applicant for the 11 + for entry in September 2022.”

“Thank you for all your support with the admissions process for our daughter. It was so much easier and smoother than we expected and she is so excited to be joining you in September.”

“ We are pleased to confirm that we will accept your offer and join St Augustine’s in September. St Augustine’s stood out during all the 11+ process. Congratulations to all the teachers, parents and girls involved. What a fantastic community you have built around inspiring values.”
