Miss Slight and the Nursery

Posted: 13th July 2017

A fond farewell

In September 2015 Miss Cherie Slight joined us as Nursery teacher.   Since then she, together with her Nursery team, has guided her young charges through the seasons of the year, through the Church seasons of Lent, Easter and Christmas and has seen her pupils progress and grow.  On Wednesday 12th July, the last day of the Summer Term, we were all sad to say goodbye to Miss Slight, who is returning to New Zealand.  Here she gives her thoughts on her past two years at St Augustine’s Priory.

‘I have absolutely loved teaching and being a part of the St Augustine’s Priory community over the past two years. I have seen a lot of young people start in Nursery and I have watched them grow (in size and in knowledge!) and develop a real zest for learning.

I am truly going to miss every one of them, the fantastic team and the welcoming, friendly feel of St Augustine’s Priory. I now only hope New Zealand welcomes me back with a mild winter!

A very big thank you to everyone who has made my time here so special.’

Thank you, Miss Slight, – do not lose touch with us here in Ealing!

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
