Lower IV Spanish Sports Centre

‘When you enjoy doing something, it’s easier to learn’.

Lower IV have been busy with a design project in Spanish recently.  Ms Gandi here reports:  ‘In Lower IV we have been working on the topic of free time activities and sport. Students had to create a poster advertising a fictional Sports Centre and the activities offered there. They also had to include a customers’ blog with comments about their use of the centre. Girls presented their work – both posters and videos – in class.  Here are some pictures together with quotes from the girls about their latest endeavours:

‘The poster helped me to learn because it was fun to make it. When you enjoy doing something it’s easier to learn.’

‘I liked it because I could practise more of what I learnt.’

‘When you were writing the blog you could use time phrases, and other things we have learnt.’

‘I feel doing the video is going to be fun as we already have the poster, so we know what to say.’

‘When you go to Spain you don’t write to people; by doing the video we are learning to speak.’

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
