As part of our visionary approach to curriculum design we are delighted to be working in conjunction with EducareM and the National School of Formation. The Headteacher Mrs Raffray is an Associate of the National School of Formation and as part of our rich partnership with work with schools across the country we are delighted to be hosts for the Building the Kingdom programme.
At the heart of Building the Kingdom is a desire to design a curriculum which enables all children to go higher and deeper. The work we do uses the liturgical year as a jumping off point for inspirational work which incorporates all aspects of the curriculum from Science to Geography to wider aspects of cultural understanding, diversity and inclusion.
Every year we meet with partner schools at least once a term to explore innovations in our teaching and learning, our students witness to the impact on oracy and other outcomes. We learn from each other. This is partnership and community at its best.
We have embedded enriching work from EYFS to KS2 with themed, cross-curricular days which build on liturgical themes. Girls relish these times when they step off the usual curriculum and have time and space to make connections, to pray and consider how their lives can be changed. In their turn they will go and change the world! From KS2 to Sixth Form we are involved in Oracy for Advocacy projects which enable pupils to find their voices, to speak from the heart and the mind with conviction, erudition and passion on a range of Catholic Social teachings.
