Eyes of the World

Juniors share their vision.

Miss Cooke, Form Teacher, Lower II tells us some exciting news from the Juniors:

‘As part of our extra-curricular club ‘Parliamentary Priory’, we have been exploring the climate crisis and this year’s 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) meeting. As part of this, the girls have created some drawings for the CAFOD campaign ‘Eyes of the World’.’

Showing that the eyes of the world are upon them, CAFOD invites schools to share their artwork, a wonderful way to show governments that we are taking note of their words and actions.

The CAFOD website says: ‘The world we live in is changing. The climate is in crisis and it affects us all. But it is the poorest communities who are suffering the most. Over the past year, we have seen how important it is to look after one another. The coronavirus crisis has shown that change is possible and that governments can make rapid decisions when they choose to do so. Now, let’s come together to care for the world which is crying out for our help and tackle the climate emergency with even more urgency. The eyes of the world are on us this year, as Britain hosts world leaders for the United Nation’s climate change talks – COP26. It is vital that we raise our voices and ensure the Government uses this historic moment to build a more sustainable world.’
