Preps Dance and Gymnastics Showcase

Posted: 5th April 2019

A wonderful display.

On Monday 1st April, the Preps treated us to a wonderful display of dance and gymnastics. There was a Lion King theme to this year’s display, with girls dressed in leopard print and tiger print and whiskers painted on their faces.

Prep I had decorated headdresses of lions and birds which they wore as they danced to ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’. The girls ended the performance with a loud ‘ROAARR!’

Prep II showed off their gymnastics and balancing skills as they danced to ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ which also features in the Lion King.

Prep III danced to ‘The Circle of Life’ and also wore headdresses and masks. The performance began with Mufasa in the centre of the stage, who was visited by various groups from the animal kingdom, who bowed as they met him. There were birds flapping their wings, elephants lifting their trunks and lions, giraffes, zebras and gazelles leaping across the stage.

The show ended with the gymnastics group performing to ‘Boogie Wonderland’ complete with lots of cartwheels, forward rolls and splits.

Once the show had finished, each girl was presented with a certificate of achievement from Miss Keane.  Congratulations to all the girls that took part who had worked so hard on their performances.

Strengthening Our Community: The Return of Boys to our Preps and Pre-Preps

We are excited to share that, from September 2026, boys will begin moving up from our Nursery into Reception, marking the gradual reintroduction of boys into our Prep and Pre-Prep School.

This step reflects growing interest from families who value our strong holistic ethos and unique grounds and setting and would like their sons and daughters to share their educational journey together.

At St Augustine’s, our strong sense of community, academic excellence, and deep care for each individual child remain at the heart of everything we do. This is a natural evolution of our school rather than a change to who we are, building on our strengths and allowing us to offer the same joyful, inspiring education to even more children.
