Battling the Weather
On 27th March, the Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants from St Augustine’s Priory along with Ms Hayden and Mr Thomas journeyed to Machynlleth, Wales to take part in their training and practice expedition. The girls had to deal with rough terrain and weather, and demonstrated extraordinary perseverance and an upbeat attitude throughout.
The Silver participants explored a variety of terrains including mountainous and forest areas. The assessors were impressed with all the participants’ performances and happily approved them for their qualifying expedition which will be in August. Congratulations to Ayla, Abbie, Serena, Grace, Michelle, Elise, and Olivia for completing a challenging expedition and performing to such high standards.
